You are cordially invited to take part in the Lviv Dance Research Congress. This unique event is open to all forms of dance: ballet, modern, folk, ballroom, Oriental, tango, therapeutic, recreational, revival etc.
Intended primarily for professionals, the Congress is at the same time an educational event and a trade fair focused on contacts with colleagues and informal discussions.
Organized by the Lviv Section of the International Dance Council CID, it is strictly non-profit, not to be confused with festivals, workshops, competitions or open conferences. Venue is the prestigious Lviv State Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet: http://opera.lviv.ua
You can take part with or without a presentation. A presentation can be:
– Lecture with projection of video or slides (20 minutes)
– Class (30 minutes)
– Performance by a company, a duo or a soloist (5 or 10 minutes)
– Exhibition and sale of your publications or produce.
You can declare now your intention to take part, and proceed to registration later. Participants register as members of the International Dance Council CID at UNESCO, the official organization for dance in the world.
To apply for a visa and/or financial assistance, registered participants receive an official certificate. We maintain contacts with embassies and consulates to assist participants.
The event will be combined with the General Assembly of the CID.

Tanssii tähtien kanssa tuomarina toimiva, tanssija Jukka Haapalainen tuo Haapalainen Suutari-Jääskö Dance Companyn tuottaman mainetta keränneen tanssiteoksen D O U B L E:n ensimmäistä kertaa Lapualle. Kaksi tanssiteosta yhdistävä kokonaisuus saapuu elokuussa Lapuan Teatterihiomolle. Tanssiteosta on mahdollista käydä Lapualla katsomassa ainoastaan kahden illan ajan 1.-2.8.2017. Aikaisemmin D O U B L E – tanssiteosta on esitetty Helsingin Aleksanterin teatterissa, Oulun kaupunginteatterilla sekä Kuopio Tanssii ja Soi – festivaaleilla.
Jukka Haapalaisen ja Sirpa Suutari-Jääskön teos DOUBLE yhdistää kaksi teosta – Jotos ja Latin Quarter Revisited -tanssiteokset. Molemmissa kokonaisuuksissa heijastuu yksilönä oleminen osana yhteisöä. Jotos pohjautuu Haapalaisen ja Suutari-Jääskön koreografiaan, jonka he loivat Aino Kallaksen mystiseen runouteen perustuvaan, Tiina Puumalaisen ohjaamaan Sudenmorsian-näytelmään (TTT). Jotos -Sudenpolku kertoo rakkauden voimasta ja ihmisestä sen voiman vallassa: kuinka rakkaus voi olla mahdotonta ja samaan aikaan elinehto. Latin Quarter Revisited on puolestaan jatkoa Haapalaisen ja Suutari-Jääskön vuonna 2006 valmistuneelle Latin Quarter – teokselle. Tutkimusmatka tanssijoita innoittavan latinalaisen musiikin ja tanssin maailmaan jatkuu Lapuan Teatterihiomolla. Liikkeellä voi kertoa kaiken – senkin, mihin sanoilla ei saa edes kosketusta.
