Introduction

The World DanceSport Federation (WDSF) Scrutineering Congress is a comprehensive educational program designed to train and certify scrutineers responsible for the accurate processing, calculation, and management of competition results in WDSF-sanctioned DanceSport events. This congress provides both theoretical knowledge and practical skills needed to effectively perform scrutineering duties according to WDSF standards and requirements.

Objectives

• Train licensed and aspiring WDSF scrutineers in the latest techniques and software
• Provide education on WDSF judging systems and result calculation methods
• Ensure standardized competition result management across WDSF events
• Maintain the integrity of DanceSport competitions through proper scrutineering practices
• Fulfil educational requirements for licensed WDSF scrutineers (valid for two years)

Pre-requisite

For Licensed WDSF Scrutineers (Renewal/Upgrade)

1. WDSF Registration – Must be registered with the WDSF as an active scrutineer
2. Technical Knowledge – Working knowledge of basic computer operations and network configurations
3. Previous Experience – Demonstration of practical experience in scrutineering at WDSF or national-level competitions
4. Software Familiarity – Experience with at least one WDSF-certified scrutineering software package
5. Language Proficiency – Sufficient English comprehension to understand technical instructions

For New Applicants

1. National Member Body (NMB) Endorsement – Must submit application via their National Member Body to the WDSF Academy
2. Technical Background – Demonstrated proficiency in computer operations and basic networking
3. Dance Knowledge – Fundamental understanding of DanceSport competition structures and rules
4. Language Requirement – Sufficient English comprehension skills
5. Age Requirement – Minimum 21 years of age
6. Examination Readiness – Prepared to take a physical congress and pass the corresponding examination to obtain a license (observation status is granted for first-time attendees)

Technical Requirements

1. Personal Laptop – Attendees should bring a laptop computer with:
   • Windows 10 or higher operating system
   • Minimum 8GB RAM
   • At least 100GB free disk space
   • Administrator access rights
   • Working Wi-Fi capability
2. Software Installation – This will be done at the Congress
3. Network Configuration Knowledge – Basic understanding of IP addressing and network troubleshooting

Certification Process

• Licensed scrutineers attending the congress will maintain their active status for two years
• New applicants will be permitted to attend as observers
• Following observation, new applicants must attend a physical congress and pass the examination
• License categories (B and A) have different requirements and responsibilities
• Examination will cover WDSF Scrutineering principles and Skating System

   • Competition LAN and Wi-Fi setup
   • Common technical problems and troubleshooting solutions
   • Security and backup procedures
   • Hardware requirements and configuration
5. WDSF Certified Scrutineering Software
   • Overview of WDSF-certified software options
   • Software setup and configuration
   • Data input and management
   • Results calculation and verification
   • Integration with WDSF systems for results uploading
6. Licensing Information
   • Requirements for upgrading from ”B” to ”A” licenses
   • License renewal processes
   • Continued education requirements

Additional Info:

1. Scrutineers are encouraged to participate in this congress which will also qualify for a 2 years extended validity of the Scrutiny’s license.
2. Only candidates who have completed the entire online WDSF Scrutiny application system before the closing date are permitted to register to this congress.
3. For observers at a WDSF congress, the registration can only be done by the WDSF NMB. The NMB can pay for the observer online or delegate the payment to the observer.

• New Candidates’ applications (to be submitted by National Federation) no later than 3 September, 2025, 23:59 GTM.
• Congress registration and payment shall close on 14 Sep 2025 23:59 GMT
• All payment must be made online, no registration or entry is allowed on the day of the course and no late registration will be accepted.

Title: WDSF AJS24 Methods of Judging and Assessment course

Objective:
To provide training for current WDSF Licensed Standard and Latin Adjudicators and new applicants of the WDSF Adjudicator’s License. English Comprehension Test, GKT and AJS will also be conducted

Eligibility Criteria for WDSF Adjudicators:

The Congress is open to:

1. All WDSF A, B and C Licensed Adjudicators for Standard and Latin Disciplines
2. Approved WDSF Adjudicators B and C license applicants
3. For new WDSF Adjudicator´s License applicants: Registration for this congress is permitted only for those who have completed the entire online WDSF Adjudicator application before the closing date
4. New applicants for the WDSF Adjudicators´ License should consult the WDSF Competition Rules to ensure all prerequisites are met

Please note:

• Current WDSF Adjudicators are encouraged to participate in this congress which will also qualify for a two-year extended validity of the Adjudicator’s Licenses.
• The General Knowledge Test (GKT), English Comprehension Test and AJS test will be conducted at this congress.

Eligibility Criteria for Athletes and Observers:

The Congress is open to:

1. WDSF Athletes (with WDSF MIN) and other DanceSport enthusiast (observers).
2. For observers at a WDSF congress, the registration can only be done via their WDSF National Member Body (NMB). The NMB can pay for the observer online or delegate the payment to the observer.

Course Fee:
For Adjudicator´s License applicants and other observers:

• One-Day Course CHF 100.00
• Two-Days Course CHF 250.00
• All payments for WDSF Adjudicator´s License applicants, current WDSF officials and other observers must be made online.
• No registration or entry is allowed on the day of the course and no late registration will be accepted.
